“Lo que originalmente era una cosa es transformado por una persona y vuelve a ser una cosa con el tiempo o por la enorme fuerza de la naturaleza."

Este proyecto comenzó el día en que un amigo encontró un casete de video tirado por la calle. Al llegar a casa y reproducir la cinta, se percató de que el vídeo original había desaparecido por completo, resultando en una imagen distorsionada con barras de colores luminosas que parecían tener vida propia.

La cinta de video no contenía simplemente imágenes, si no también sonidos distorsionados debido a su mal estado. Debido a esto, el amigo decidió enviársela a su amiga Kazumi para que esta revisara los sonidos y consiguiera ambientar las imágenes con ellos. Tras alargar el sonido y cambiar su tono, Kazumi se percató de que el resultado conseguido guardaba un gran parecido con el sonido que emiten los grillos por la noche.

Esto le resultó sumamente bello, al percatarse de que algo que empezó siendo solo un objeto, tras convertirse en un producto, ser comprado, poseído y abandonado en la calle, seguía conteniendo “vida”. Se suponía que el casete debería haber vuelto a ser un mero objeto, sin embargo, debido a la fuerza de la naturaleza y a su increíble resiliencia.
